The word Tantra has been used in Indian culture for centuries, and can be difficult to define in one sentence. It is a combination of two Sanskrit words: tanoti which means expansion and tra which means liberation. Tantric practices are a way to articulate the divine feminine energy present in all of us that can help us become more spiritually awakened by opening up our chakra system through yoga, meditation and massage.

Tantra is different from other spiritual traditions because of its integrated nature. It considers a person’s worldly desires as part of one’s spiritual practice. Many spiritual traditions teach that desire for material pleasure and spiritual aspirations are mutually exclusive, which could lead to great internal struggle.
Tantra offers a different perspective, offering people who are drawn to spiritual practice a chance to fulfill their worldly desires it is consider the householders path. I consider Neo-Tantra (non-Classical) to be my spiritual path, as I have been studying and practicing this path for over 20 years. ~ Deborah
